 Anise, Fennel & Caraway - These 3 spices are good for digestion, puffiness, gas and cleansing. Mix them together in a dish and serve after a heavy meal.

Calendula - Calendula can help prevent hair loss and can help cure skin allergies. It renews skin cells, and is used to help treat burns, wounds and dry skin.

Cardamom - Cardamom seeds are known to be stimulating and awakening. They also work as a great breath freshener, you can kiss your loved one after eating garlic if you eat just 3 grains of cardamom! Also, try coffee with cardamom & hawaij to increase sexual desire and performance.....

Celery seeds - Celery seeds can act as an anti-oxidant and help to prevent cancer, hypertension and cholesterol. Sprinkle onto salads or soups.

Cumin - Cumin can help prevent anxiety, puffiness and can remove phlegm.It also can stimulate lactation after giving birth. Eat a quarter of a teaspoon daily, can be added to rice, salads, meat etc.

Flax Seeds - Flax must be in consumed in ground form only as our bodies cannot digest the seeds whole. Flax seeds are enriched with omega 3, iron, calcium and full of dietary fibres that can give a sense of fullness and so, are good for a diet. The flax also can help balance cholesterol and relieve coughing and constipation.

Ginger - Ginger is well known for its health qualities. It can decrease blood pressure, and help to relieve nausea and sore throats.

Hyssop - Hyssop has been used in the Middle East since biblical days, and is found in our own Zippy Za'atar along with sesame seeds, olive oil and sumac. Hyssop is known to improve concentration and memory. Itcan also be used as a fungicide, soak two handfuls of hyssop leaves in boiling water for 10 minutes. Let cool and then soak your feet in the solution.

Nigella - Known for its virtues as a spice that decreases blood sugar level, lowers the volume of snoring and strengthens the heart muscle.

Mustard seeds - they can accelerate metabolism therefore are good for digestion and diet. 

Turmeric - Nature's antibiotic ! It can stimulate the appetite and contracts the blood vessels, so sprinkled onto a wound to stop the bleeding.

 

3 wonder blends

 

A blend for reducing cholesterol - Contains cinnamon, dandelion, fenugreek seeds, astragalus and artichoke. The main herb is dandelion ( a root that renews cells in the liver and assists in the disposal of body waste). In addition it assists in preventing the formation of gall bladder stones and in dissolving existing ones. The artichoke in the blend is considered a bitter herb that cleanses cholesterol and fat. To make : Add 1 teaspoon of each to a cup of boiling water, let steep for 10 minutes then drink.

A blend for reducing blood sugar levels - Contains olive leaves,  Gymnema Sylvestre leave,fenugreek, nigella, cinammon, green tea and white savory. The cinammon and nigella increase the ability of the receptors to receive insulin and bring the blood sugar from the blood to the cells. The Gymnema Sylvestre improves the ability of the pancrea to produce insulin and the combination between these spices and herbs is the perfect marriage. To make : Add 1 teaspoon of each to a cup of boiling water, steep for 10 minutes then drink. Take this solution once a day for 6 weeks, then take a break for 2 months and start again for another 6 weeks.

A blend for decreasing high blood pressure (hypertension) - Contains : Olive leaves, mint, nettle, fenugreek, passion fruit leaves, parsley, and calming herbs such as lemon balm, chamomile and tilia. The blend reduces blood pressure by cleansing the blood vessels. To make: Add 1 teaspoon of each to a cup of boiling water, let steep for 10 minutes then drink once a day for 6 weeks, then take a break for 2 months and then start again for another 6 weeks.
